Walk with us this Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Lime Hollow Nature Center

Sunday, July 27, 2014 – In Search of Summer Wildflowers – A Family and Friends Walk
We invite the members, friends and supporters of Lime Hollow, and now our own family and friends, to join naturalist and author Roger Fulton on a free wildflower and nature walk at Lime Hollow Nature Center, just outside of Cortland, NY from 3-5:30 pm. We will cover about 3 miles of easy to moderate trails on the walk. Meet at the Nature Center at 338 McLean Rd., Cortland, NY 13045 at 3 pm. Reservations are appreciated and the walk is limited to 12 members and friends. Recommend good footwear (No open toed shoes or flip-flops), plenty of water and you may want bug spray and a hat. Bring a snack, sandwich or sub to enjoy at the pavilion afterward with your fellow hikers.

Summer Wildflower Walk at Lime Hollow Sunday, July 20th, 2014

Sunday, July 20, 2014 – In Search of Summer Wildflowers 
Join naturalist and author Roger Fulton as he leads a small group on a free wildflower walk at Lime Hollow Nature Center, just outside of Cortland, NY from 3-5:30 pm. We will cover about 3 miles of easy to moderate trails on the walk. Meet at the Nature Center at 338 McLean Rd., Cortland, NY 13045. 
Recommend plenty of water, good footwear (No open toed shoes or flip-flops). You may want bug spray and a hat.

Summer Woods Hike, Sunday July 13, 3-5:30 pm, Lime Hollow Nature Center

Join us as we lead members of the Syracuse Outdoors Adventure Club on a 3.5 mile Summer Woods Hike at Lime Hollow Nature Center, 338 McLean Road, Cortland, NY. We have reserved 5 spots for our Blog friends to join us, but you must make reservations with Roger at: Roger@RogerFulton.com. There are no fees.
We will cover several habitats along the way. The pace will be moderate with frequent stops to enjoy the flora and fauna we find along the way. 
Bring a snack, a sub or whatever to enjoy at the pavilion after the initial hike.
Recommend plenty of water, good footwear (no open toed shoes or flip-flops), and long pants. You may want bug spray and a hat. 30% chance of rain. Heavy rain or lightning cancels. Sorry, no dogs allowed on this portion of the preserve.

Short Hiking Trails in Central NY - Friday, June 27th at 7 pm

In this one hour Powerpoint presentation, noted outdoor author Roger Fulton will detail several of the best short hiking trails in Central New York. The L.L.Bean store is located at 304 Fayetteville Towne Center Dr., Fayetteville, NY 13066.

Picnic Hike June 22nd, 2014 - 5 slots open to the public

  • Join naturalist and author Roger Fulton on a 4.0 mile round trip nature hike at the Lime Hollow Nature Center near Cortland, NY. We will hike 2 miles down the flat and open Lehigh Valley Trail to a picnic pavilion at a small town park. We can enjoy a short picnic at that site and head back 2 miles on the same Lehigh Valley Trail. We’ll be checking out the flora and fauna of the area as we go. I am sure we will find some very interesting things along the trail through the various habitats. We shall also check out a couple of Geocaching sites on the preserve, so bring your best GPS device. Don’t have one? Not to worry; we do!
    Meet at the Nature Center at: 338 McLean Rd., Cortland, NY 13045 at 3 pm. There are no fees and there should be ample parking at the Center. Heavy rain cancels the event.CHANGE
