Friday Bike Rides??

In addition to our Wednesday bike rides at various locations this Winter, let’s see if we can also do a Friday afternoon ride most Fridays at Lake Beresford Park in Deland. We’ll see how it goes, but here is the first outing.

Casual Bike Ride – Friday, December 15, 2017, 3-5 pm
Join us for an 8-15 mile casual ride at Lake Beresford Park, 2100 Fatio Road, Deland, Florida and heading toward Blue Springs on one of the Spring-to-Spring trail routes. It is a paved, off-road trail. We will first do the 2 mile loop trail to be sure everyone is on board with equipment and conditioning. We run 8-10 miles per hour (D-C Class- no one left behind!) Then we will head for Blue Springs for about 2.8 miles. Expect a few very moderate hills. (Florida ain’t ALL flat.) Then we will cover the new extension for as far as the group wants. A little rest and back to Beresford Park. A total of about 8-15 miles depending on the group. Helmets and water recommended. Adults only. Meet at Roger’s Jeep. There are restrooms and water at Beresford Park. May see a variety of wildlife along the way. Heavy rain or lightning cancels.
Would appreciate a note that you will join us.
Thanks,
Roger

• This is a part of the Spring-to-Spring trail system. All paved, wide and flat. We will start at the parking area on Dirksen Drive and Routes 17/92 in Debary, just down from the entrance to Gemini Springs Park - Not IN the park! From there we travel 2.7 miles to Lake Monroe and then back 2.7 miles. Depending on the group we may head for Green Springs Park after that. It's about 5 miles one way and then back to Dirksen. Max distance for the day might be 15.6 miles. Join us for part or all. Helmets required. Headlamps or head and tail lights recommended - just in case. And, of course, water is recommended. No one left behind!
Hope you can join us,
