North American Woodcock Mating Displays

Great night at Logan Hill Nature Preserve in Candor, NY learning about the North American Woodcock's mating rituals and displays with the Finger Lakes Land Trust folks. Calls, dances and flight displays up to 350 feet in the air. Google it on youtube to see its displays. Here's one I found online but it was better in person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrjvO_j73rU
Sorry, no pic. System wouldn't take it.

25 Waterfalls to Explore in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State: Eastern Region
My newest book is out, just in time for April showers to fill our streams and rivers and create beautiful waterfalls.  In this trail guide, don't expect to find 25 roaring, pounding waterfalls along mighty and powerful rivers -- after all, there's only one Niagara Falls!  But what you will find in this trail guide is 25 outings that will take you along waterways, both large and small, throughout the region and you will find a waterfall (some roaring and pounding and some only babbling) at each location.
2018, 100 pages, 60 full color photos, 4x8 spiral bound, $19.95
To order a copy of this book, or any other of our titles, call the publisher, Common Man Books (Glens Falls Printing) @ 866-793-0555 for credit card orders.  Or see me on the trails, if you have cash or check.
